Passed another MOT, usual suspects replaced, front discs and pads, 2 track rods-ball joint ends and also I replaced the inner steering control arms. They were an advisory but while the front end was in bits anyway!
New front roll bar bushes also fitted too, had to drop front subframe, what an arse that was. . Whole car done now, back end done recently, much smoother and no more bloody rattles, when going over bumps.
I do have a fault code for a faulty steering pump sensor, so I purchased a new one. Where is it located? I have glanced through the manual and cannot find it. Any help would be appreciated.
Update, Just found it, how on earth are we supposed to replace that. I need very small hands and a spanner with very bendy shaft. EVEN a wobble bar wont get in there. Come on Renault, you having a laugh?
Well, 2 new tyres soon on the front. Total cost so far including the car, £2800. is it a case of spending too much on a 2002 plate with 100k miles on her? I must admit the acceleration and sound from the V6 Petrol motor is amazing, even though putting the fuel in so quick is not.
My Grand Espaces are too small for that as I am very very tall.
Just seen an espace like yours, it was turned into a mini campervan. Nice job too and it sold for £4k!! Food for thought?
BB, Nice motors but as you say "worthless" particularly in the current climate of almost £8 per gallon of petrol!
Here’s another of my big old Renaults. 2002 V6 3.0 24v petrol engined beast. Perfect condition and just under 60000 miles from new. But completely worthless. Another car I’ll never part with.
This is one of mine. Paid 200 pounds for it with 69000 miles on it. Spent under 800 getting it right - new shocks, drop links, arb bushes, one calliper, rear springs, spark plugs, all filters and atf fluid change. Still only worth 5-600 quid, I’m sure! But won’t part with it. Love these cars even if Renault didn’t make them exactly what you’d describe as a quality item!
