Hi all Vel Satis fans and owners
So we are coming up to the 1 year review mark of the website coming back and overall the traffic numbers have not been as good as hoped unfortunately. It seems the lack of owners out there just means the website hasn't gained much traction
Saying that I do, as an owner myself want to keep the platform for the benefit of others and maybe it will be good in the long run with Facebook becoming ever more 'trashy'.
A few of you know how much effort I put in to make the site last summer as the Facebook page was closed where many seem to prefer going these days. (I also brought this back so check it out). So it would be a shame for it to close as quickly as it started!
To summarize as I'm very open about these things the renewal for the Website domain for 12 months is £156. Last year we had the great generosity of Trevor Sellars and Suhki Serino alongside myself to relaunch the page which was appreciated highly so shout out to you two guys.
If anyone wants to help keep the website alive please get in touch with me directly via mail. We have 2 weeks and I will comment on this post if we have enough people come forward to keep it going again for a 2nd year .
Any issues or concerns please comment/ contact me and let's try and keep the Vel Satis Club going!
Cheers
Kieran (Admin)
I will put in £25 via bank transfer ASAP sean.watson90@yahoo.com
Too true. My first Vel Satis was a new 3.0 diesel which lasted 48000 miles before getting a new engine. That one lasted until 68000 miles before seizing. It also needed a new transmission and lots of other work.
My next Vel Satis, and all of them sinc, have been 3.5 models apart from a lovely red 2.0 turbo and a Hessian 3.0 diesel which I broke for parts, most of which I still have (just in case). The 2.0 litre turbo was £90 and the 3.0 was £125.
Good job I checked this site, it would be a bloody disaster if this site were to go. The tips on "how to repair", have saved me money in a year. Keiran, put me down for £35. Message me with your details and I will send you via bank transfer. I do not do Paypal.
Come on Gents and Ladies and Binary owners, we need some dosh, to keep this going
A portion of Fish and Chips is over £12 now, so give up 2 of those!!!
The £120 renewal costs for the website, does not pay for Keiran's time or electric bills!
I’ll chip in with £20. Just £100 to go…come on, girls and boys. These cars are troublesome and quirky, like a lot of French cars, and we could all do with a bit of help to keep them going from time to time.
Can anyone else find a few quid to chip in and support Kieran?
UPDATE:
Hi again VS owners and fans,
So I have managed to secure a renewal deal of £120 for the year which works out really good value in terms of having a website fully maintained from bugs and issues.
If anyone is able to come forward with some contributions ASAP I will accept the offer and the website can stay live
If not then I will sadly have to close it as it just is too expensive to fund by myself with current climates in UK.
Please directly message me and I can send account details there, I'm hoping at least 3 people come forward with maybe £30 as then it lowers it for everyone.
Many thanks once again for your support and let's keep the page going and growing!
If anyone has better ideas also message me I'm open to suggestions
Kieran

Surprised that I am the first to comment but here goes.
Kieran, you’ve done a very professional job creating this site. You should be congratulated.
As a serial Vel Satis owner starting 19 years ago with a new 3.0 diesel Privilege (which was almost the worst car I’ve ever owned in terms of reliability and dealer support - two new engines in 68000 miles, one new transmission at 48000 miles and about 10 trips to the dealer in 3 years) and, seven more cars later, I have a 3.5 Initiale. I’d like to see your site survive and grow even if there are only a handful of owners contributing to its content.
I’d be happy to ‘chip in’ if it would help.
